A Delightful Experience at the 2024 Upland Lemon Festival
The Upland Lemon Festival, held from June 14 to June 16, 2024, in Historic Downtown Upland, continues to be a highlight of our summer. For 27 years, this cherished community event has celebrated Upland’s citrus heritage, and this year’s festival did not disappoint. My family and I have been visiting the Lemon Festival for a few years, and it keeps improving yearly.
Festival Highlights
This year, the festival introduced several exciting upgrades, enhancing the overall experience for visitors of all ages. From improved entertainment to new activities, the 2024 Lemon Festival offered something for everyone.
Expanded Entertainment Lineup:
One of the standout features of the festival was the expanded lineup of live performances. With over 50 acts across five stages, there was plenty of music and entertainment. Some of the notable performances included:
- Eve 6
- Tyler Rich
- Dreaming of You (Selena Tribute)
- Bruno & the Hooligans (Special Tribute Act)
- Leaving Austin
- Pressley Tennant
Each act brought a unique energy, making the festival a vibrant and lively event throughout the weekend.
Lemon Idol Vocal Contest:
The Lemon Idol vocal contest, a festival staple, showcased incredible local talent. This year’s finalists did not disappoint, delivering outstanding performances on the Gazebo Stage. Congratulations to all the participants, especially the winners who took home $1,000 in cash and prizes.
Carnival Rides and Games:
Carnival rides and games remain a family favorite. The festival's thrilling rides and classic games provided endless fun for children and adults alike. Seeing the excitement and smiles on our kids' faces as they enjoy the attractions is always a joy.
New Activities and Upgrades
Mechanical Bull Riding:
This year, the festival introduced mechanical bull riding, adding a fun and challenging activity for thrill-seekers. The contest on Friday evening saw enthusiastic participation, with prizes awarded to the top performers.
Karaoke Night:
Karaoke on the Lemon Country Stage was a fantastic addition. On Friday night, from 7 – 10 pm, festival-goers had the chance to showcase their vocal talents, making it a memorable kickoff to the weekend.
Axe Throwing:
Axe throwing, offered by Axe Lair, was another exciting new feature. Expert instructors guided participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages.
Petting Zoo & Pony Rides:
The petting zoo and pony rides were a big hit with the younger attendees. Our kids loved interacting with the friendly animals and riding the ponies, creating cherished family memories.
Crafters Corner:
Crafters Corner provides a delightful shopping experience with its unique, handmade creations. We found beautiful arts and crafts that made perfect souvenirs of our visit.
Community Spirit
The Upland Lemon Festival is not just about entertainment; it’s about community. Non-Profit Row highlighted the incredible work of regional organizations dedicated to making a positive impact. It was inspiring to meet passionate representatives and learn about their missions.
Volunteering at the festival was a rewarding experience, and it was heartening to see so many people giving back to the community. Volunteers were rewarded with free carnival wristbands, adding to the festival's inclusive and generous spirit.
